Automatic harvesting robot seeks to solve japan’s labor shortage problem

by admin

AGRIST, a Japanese startup, is creating a farm robot to address the issue of manpower shortages in agricultural harvests. The autonomous bell pepper harvesting robot L, developed in partnership with farmers in shintomi town, Miyazaki Prefecture, where agriculture is thriving, weighs 16kg and can run continuously for four hours on a single battery charge. L moves on a cable that is installed within the greenhouse, unlike most existing robots in the industry, which run on the ground. This eliminates the requirement for a ground rail, simplifying construction and making overall operation easier.
